About Alyson Rae

I am a certified yoga instructor, living in the Pacific Northwest. With private studio spaces in both Portland (Hawthorne) and Seattle (Wallingford), as well as a thriving clientele of private students on Zoom - I am proud to offer restorative movement classes with a customized flair both locally and globally. Travel is my leading passion, and inspires my work greatly - I look forward to collaborating with teachers and students of yoga across the world.

After hundreds of hours of guidance, shared observation, and mentoring from Seattle's most celebrated yoga teachers via the Sendatsu Evolution program in 2019, I've continued my education with teachers around the country and world. Developing my practice of quieting the inner mind and helping others find similar peace, I completed an intensive guided meditation training through Faith Hunter's Embrace OM school in 2020. I am proudly certified as an Accessible Yoga teacher, studying under their international team of movement teachers and social justice activists to realign my perspectives and teachings in 2021, to be consistent with the organization's vision of a world where everyone has access to the yoga teachings that offer individual empowerment and spiritual awakening. In early 2024, I will be studying passionately in a radically inclusive pregnancy training created by London based teacher, therapist, and Kundalini Global founder Carolyn Cowan, with a mission of becoming a capable and supportive teacher and resource to all folks who are on a fertility, family planning, pregnancy, or post-natal journey.

I am fully Vinyasa trained, and while that  breath-to-movement style of yoga is still a leading guide in my classes, my flows are slow and steady, with a focus on gentle strength building, grounding the body, and deep restoration for mind and muscles alike. In my years as a teacher, I have been deeply influenced by restorative and Yin modalities of the practice, long form meditations such as Yoga Nidra, visualization exercises, and the power of self reflection and affirmation that can be tapped into with greater ease through a movement practice.

My years of teaching have given me the honor of collaborating online with other wonderful teachers, and reaching a diverse range of students. I am proud to have created truly bespoke movement offerings with creative life coaches, Seattle's Yo Yo Yoga project, and Portland Community College. I am available for online and in person classes of any size, and many times throughout the week, please consider a customized class for your next celebration or company retreat!
